Back 1, Back 2

On May 10, 2006, Yun received a telephone call informing her of the unexpected loss of a dear and lovely friend. Faced with this sad reality, Yun found herself contemplating the ways in which the physical world often serves as a means to revisit that which is intangible, lost, missed, or simply a part of our ever-changing and elusive memories. Fully aware of the distance which grows between herself, loved ones, and the moments which no longer exist, Yun creates new experiences to access the old ones, which continue to grow dimmer as she works in her studio. Her focus for Back 1 and Back 2 is not necessarily what is present before her but, more importantly, what is left behind.
